Aaron Smith is a freelance trumpet player and AFM member of Locals 47 & 7. He also writes, arranges, and publishes music through his small business, TrumpetSmith Publishing (ASCAP). Prior to becoming a Director on the Executive Board of AFM Local 47, he served on the Hearing Board. He is currently a Director for the Recording Musicians Association Los Angeles (RMALA), and a member of the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA).
He performs regularly for live orchestral events, musical theatre, films, independent recording projects, streaming, and television.
My intention as a Director is to understand and help establish peaceful and productive communication on every level from we the members of all types, to the Executive Board, and especially with our Employers. As the landscape changes, it is important to encourage positive business relationships and open communication on how to create more opportunity within our industry in our community.
