Stamp Out Hunger! Letter Carriers’ Food Drive: Saturday, May 11, 2024
Each year, letter carriers across the country head out on their routes on the second Saturday in May to collect donations of non-perishable food items to benefit local food pantries. Since launching in 1993, the National Association of Letter Carriers’ annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive has grown into the nation’s largest one-day food drive, helping to fill the shelves of food banks in cities and towns throughout the United States. Theatrical Motion Picture & TV Film Scales Updated for 2024-2027
Effective April 28, 2024, the AFM Basic Television/Theatrical Motion Picture Agreement scale wages increased by 5%. This includes but is not limited to recording scale wages and Music Preparation wages.
Pension and Health & Welfare rates remain the same, 11.99% (Pension), $48.54 per day (H&W).

Orchestration Classes 2024 with Dr. Norman Ludwin
AFM Local 47 members are invited to participate in an online learning experience with Executive Board member and professional orchestrator Dr. Norman Ludwin. This series of 4 classes will examine every section — Strings, Winds, & Brass — culminating in Full Orchestra. Students will also have the opportunity to complete their own optional orchestration assignments.
AFM Local 47 membership will be verified prior to enrollment.

IT Update: Ensemble 2.0 (E2)
AFM Local 47 has been hard at work updating our IT infrastructure, and at long last the finish line is in sight. We will soon be launching a new, fully cloud-based database named Ensemble 2.0 (or “E2”) that will feature many substantial upgrades. Continue reading
Do Not Work For: Giorgio Lalov
Giorgio Lalov has been added to the AFM Local 47 Do Not Work For List and to the AFM International Unfair List for failure to pay musicians according to industry standards.

AFM Musicians Ratify Motion Picture Agreements
The American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada (AFM) is proud to announce the ratification of the Basic Theatrical Motion Picture and Basic Television Motion Picture Agreements contract.
