We understand that this is a critical time for many members here in Los Angeles. During our General Membership Meeting we will be sharing important information about available disaster relief. We encourage all members to attend so that we may better understand members’ specific needs, as well as musicians’ availability to assist with providing outreach and support to our communities. The Executive Board has submitted 2 Resolutions to amend the Bylaws to be voted upon at our January 27 meeting, both recommended for a YES vote by the Legislative Committee. The Resolutions concern (1) the creation of an Organizing Department to be administered by our new Director of Organizing, Ed Gutierrez — who will be available to meet with members during and after the meeting — and (2) instituting Work Dues payments of all Local 47 Officers (Titled Officers, Directors, Trustees and Hearing Officers) to pay Work Dues based on their salaries in these positions.
