Conductor/Arranger Marco Marinangeli leads a Local 47 string orchestra in the final recording session of the season for hit NBC reality series “America’s Got Talent” at Capitol Records Sept. 12.

The show, created by famously crass English reality judge Simon Cowell, from seasons one through six were broadcast live from CBS Television City in Los Angeles. In season seven the live shows were held at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, New Jersey, and for the current eighth season, live performances moved to Radio City Music Hall in New York City. During the Capitol Records scoring session, music director Graham Stack listened in from New York via Skype.

Featuring singers, dancers, magicians, comedians, and other performers of all ages, “America’s Got Talent” contestants compete for a top prize of $1 million and a national headlining tour following the final show, stopping in 25 cities. Season nine premieres next summer.

Marinangeli, a Grammy-nominated Italian composer, songwriter and producer, has written and produced for recording artists including Josh Groban, Plácido Domingo, Donna Summer, Lucas Grabeel, Monique Coleman, Peter Frampton, Olga Tañon, Miley Cyrus, and Hilary Duff. He has collaborated with David Foster, Humberto Gatica, William Ross, Jeremy Lubbock, Luis Bacalov, Jorge Calandrelli, and Lalo Schifrin. He also arranges music on FOX’s “X Factor,” also created by Simon Cowell, which resumes in mid-November.
