On October 15-17, 2024, the American Federation of Musicians was proud to participate in the inaugural American Film Convention, with AFM Local 47 holding down the booth. AFM presented two panels during the three-day event with the theme “Scoring Your Indie Vision: The Power of Music and the AFM Independent/Festival Film Agreement.”
The first panel, “American Agitators: The Fred Ross Project,” featured director/producer Raymond Telles, composer Mark Adler, music contractor David Low, AFM Director of Electronic Media Services John Painting, and RMALA Director Dylan Hart, moderated by film curator/producer Caroline Libresco.
The second panel, “The Last Repair Shop,” featured filmmaker and director Ben Proudfoot, composer Katya Richardson, RMALA President Lara Wickes and AFM’s John Painting, moderated by film/TV journalist and author Jon Burlingame.
The convention attracted thousands of professionals from the entertainment industry and was by all accounts a resounding success. We look forward to participating in future events with the American Film Convention.
