In an abundance of caution and for the well-being of our members and staff, AFM Local 47 is taking increased precautionary measures regarding the use of our facilities while the situation surrounding the COVID-19 coronavirus continues to evolve.
- As of March 17, use of our Rehearsal Rooms and Studio 47 will be on hiatus through March 31 or until as announced by the Executive Board. We have set up a Hand-Washing Station in our Musicians’ Lounge while these facilities remain open.
- The “Planning for Retirement” financial seminar that had been scheduled in Rehearsal Room 7 on the evening of March 23 has been postponed until a future date TBD.
- The next weekly Executive Board meeting on Tuesday, March 17 will be held via teleconference, with subsequent meetings TBD. If you have questions please contact the Secretary/Treasurer’s Office at 323.993.3159.
- The New Member Orientation meeting scheduled for March 19 is postponed until April 16 or as determined by the Executive Board.
During this dynamic and rapidly changing situation, please be assured that your union leadership is closely monitoring public health advisories and will continue to provide updates as events evolve. Members are reminded to follow the safety practices and contract-review procedures as advised in our last email communication concerning COVID-19.
For additional information and updates on developments and recommended safety precautions, please visit the websites for the CDC and World Health Organization.
On behalf of the Executive Board and staff, we thank you for your understanding and cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 323.462.2161.
In Unity,
