Newsom has waived the state&#8217;s one-week waiting period for filing a claim.)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Caregiving:<\/strong> If you\u2019re unable to work because you are caring for an ill or quarantined family member with COVID-19 (certified by a medical professional), you can&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.edd.ca.gov\/Disability\/How_to_File_a_PFL_Claim_in_SDI_Online.htm\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/www.edd.ca.gov\/Disability\/How_to_File_a_PFL_Claim_in_SDI_Online.htm\">file a Paid Family Leave (PFL) claim<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Employers:<\/strong> You can apply for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edd.ca.gov\/Unemployment\/Work_Sharing_Program.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Unemployment Insurance (UI) Work Sharing Program<\/a> if reduced production, services, or other conditions cause them to seek an alternative to layoffs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2><strong>CA Labor Commissioner<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dir.ca.gov\/dlse\/2019-Novel-Coronavirus.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/www.dir.ca.gov\/dlse\/2019-Novel-Coronavirus.htm\">Labor Commissioner&#8217;s Office offers these guidelines<\/a>&nbsp;relating to your options under state law regarding use of sick leave, vacation time, unpaid leave, etc.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>American Federation of Musicians of the U.S. &amp; Canada<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The AFM&#8217;s Lester Petrillo Memorial Fund is a charitable trust that provides financial relief to members. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.afm.org\/petrillo-memorial-fund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/www.afm.org\/petrillo-memorial-fund\/\">Click here<\/a> more information and to download an application. Please visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.afm.org\/covid-19\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/www.afm.org\/covid-19\/\">afm.org\/covid-19<\/a> for links to information and resources, and continue to visit this page for updates.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The Actors Fund<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>A resource for everyone who works in the entertainment industry (not just actors), <a href=\"https:\/\/actorsfund.org\/services-and-programs\/social-services-financial-assistance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Actors Fund<\/a> is available to help musicians&nbsp; with emergency assistance for expenses like rent, utilities, doctor and dental bills, health premiums, etc. To schedule a complimentary intake with a social worker, please call 323.933.9244, ext. 455.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Labor Community Services<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Labor Community Services offers several resources for union members in need, including access to food banks.
