Local 47\u2019s titled officers, President John Acosta, Vice President Rick Baptist and Secretary\/Treasurer Gary Lasley, and Live Performance Business Representative Michael Ankney hand-delivered the plaque to the Colony\u2019s artistic director Barbara Beckley before the venue\u2019s performance of \u201cWords by Ira Gershwin.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The vibrant &#8220;Local 47 blue&#8221; lacquered plaques are inscribed with the words:\u00a0&#8220;The musicians performing in this venue are proud members of the American Federation of Musicians Local 47, the musicians union of Hollywood.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1177\" alt=\"pantages\" src=\"https:\/\/afm47.org\/press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/pantages.jpg\" width=\"741\" height=\"418\" srcset=\"https:\/\/afm47.org\/press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/pantages.jpg 741w, https:\/\/afm47.org\/press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/pantages-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/afm47.org\/press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/pantages-624x352.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 741px) 100vw, 741px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On June 2, we hit up the musicians hanging in the green room at the Pantages just before that evening&#8217;s performance of &#8220;Motown.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1176\" alt=\"ahmanson group\" src=\"https:\/\/afm47.org\/press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/ahmanson-group.jpg\" width=\"760\" height=\"408\" srcset=\"https:\/\/afm47.org\/press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/ahmanson-group.jpg 760w, (max-width: 760px) 100vw, 760px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That same week on June 4, we visited the Ahmanson in between the matinee and evening performances of &#8220;Matilda.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1178\" alt=\"ahmanson closeup\" src=\"https:\/\/afm47.org\/press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/ahmanson-closeup.jpg\"
