Free Income Tax Preparation and Family Resource Fair
Thousands of dollars could be yours this tax season thanks to the state and federal earned income tax credit. The Board of Equalization and Chairman Jerome E. Horton will host Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) events where low-to-moderate income families will be eligible to file their taxes for free.
Local 47 is a proud partner in the VITA program and encourages all members to learn more about this important assistance resource.

Since moving to the Los Angeles area in 1954 he has been a busy studio musician playing keyboard & piano as part of the famed collective dubbed The Wrecking Crew, appearing on and writing for a countless number of motion picture and television soundtracks, commercials and pop albums. The Los Angeles Jazz Society presents the 2015 Jazz Tribute Awards Concert on Saturday, Nov. 7, 7:30 p.m. at the Montalban Theatre in Hollywood honoring several of music’s greatest living treasurers.
Receiving the 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award is renowned jazz trombonist George Bohanon, a Life Member of AFM Local 47. He has worked with hundreds of performers on albums and concert dates for over 50 years. Continue reading
