On Aug 2, 2016, hundreds of union members marched & rallied in support of Vons, Albertsons & Ralphs workers fighting to #MakeEndsMeet.
Grocery workers at these stores have been without a new contract since March. The United Food and Commercial Workers Local 770 attended bargaining sessions last month fully prepared to bargain a mutually acceptable contract. Unfortunately, the proposals being brought to the table by management continue to fail to recognize their employees’ hard work, the companies’ profitability, and the increasing cost of living in Southern California.
As a result, the union launched boycott actions throughout Southern California on July 25, and grocery workers may strike if deal isn’t made by Aug. 8.
Please check ufcw770.org/actions and stay tuned to notifications from us for dates and times of boycott actions. AFM Local 47 has adopted the Pavilions down the street from our union hall at 727 Vine Street. Your participation will make a difference since the customers know you and will honor your request.
